Producers are responsible for
ensuring they are completing appropriate course work. Producers are
encouraged to purchase one of the packages of CE course work. These packages
have been set up specifically for certain license classes and number of
years licensed in the state.
FLORIDA State Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
• For LH, PC & Title agents - 24 hours
biannually in basic or higher level courses • Individuals licensed 6
years or more must complete 20 hours of intermediate or advanced level
courses, biannually. • Customer representatives, limited customer
representatives, solicitors, title agents or industrial fire and burglary
agents who are not dually licensed as LH agents must complete 14 hours
biannually • Agents licensed for 25 years or more, who are also CLUs or
CPCUs must complete 10 hours biannually • Workers compensation adjusters
are required to complete 24 hours biannually including 2 hour in ethics, 4
hours of state rules and regulations, 10 hours workers compensation, and 8
hours in any workers compensation subjects
•Section
626.2815 states that the number of hours required by agents to complete 28
hours has been reduced to 24 hours effectively July 2003. This is
retroactive as indicated by the date; furthermore, section 626.2815 requires
all agents to complete 3 hours of ethics as part of the 24hrs (the state
will not enforce this requirement until June 2005).
Continuing Education Compliance Date End
of birth month following the second anniversary of the first license
issuance date, and then biannually thereafter.
License Renewal Date End of birth month following the second
anniversary of the first license issuance date, and then biannually
thereafter.
Types of courses accepted for CE
Credit • Independent self-study courses.
• Internet.
• Classroom study.
Final Exam Online Interactive self study courses DO NOT require a
monitor. All other self-study final exams must be monitored by a
provider-approved monitor.
Exemptions
•
Individuals with a limited lines license that an exam is not required.
•
Individuals with any of the following limited licenses: dental
representative , motor vehicle physical damage and mechanical breakdown
agent and crop hail and multiple peril crop agent
